WHAT IS SHAMPOO?

The main purpose of shampoo is to remove dirt and oil from the surface of the hair fibres and the scalp, while the main purpose of conditioner is to ensure that the hair is smooth for combing. Some commercial shampoos may also have additional components to control dandruff and condition hair. Shampoo is not antibacterial unless it says so on the label. The FDA now prohibits antibacterial cleansers with triclosan. Antibacterial cleansers (hair, hands and body) is not more effective than plain soap and water and it may be dangerous.
