At Dreymar Industrial our office filing cabinets are made of sheet metal. The drawers use a drawer slide to facilitate opening the drawer which includes an "outstop" to prevent the drawer from being pulled completely out of the cabinet.

Are Filing Cabinets lockable?
All filing cabinets are lockable with a key and a simple cam lock. For extra security, Dreymar Industrial also provides filing cabinets with lock bars that extend over each drawer to prevent the drawers being pried open.
Are Filing Cabinets fireproof?
Not all filing cabinets are fireproof, but there are fireproof options which contain a layer of fireproof insulation between the layers of the cabinet walls. These layers slow the rate in which internal temperatures rise, providing more time for the fire to be extinguished before the cabinet becomes too hot.
